TCC Unveils a Sculptor:  Augie N'Kele Rises to International Acclaim

I may have been Augie's first instructor when he came to Northeast Campus...He was in my art appreciation class and he was special then, bringing an international point of view to the course content...I realized his was a superior talent.  However, it became clear when he took Karmien Bowman's class that sculpture was his medium...He has kept in touch with his friends...and we always ook forward to hearing from him as well as seeing his development as an artist...I especially admire his ability to capture subtleties of poses resulting in such powerful statements concerning slavery.  His use of easily attainable and found materials is incredibly creative...

Martha Gordon, Chairwoman of Fine Arts, TCC

Augie was a dream art student: creative, driven, bright, insightful, and technically adept...He researches in great depth, areas that interest him artistically, so that his sculptures reflect a historically accurate subject, in addition to his unique approach to the medium he uses to execute his artwork...
